Dookie Retreat

I'm just back from a wonderful trip to outback Victoria to teach at the famous Dookie Quilters Retreat.  It was my first teaching trip for quite a while, so I'm feeling rather more exhausted than I usually would, but I wanted to do a blog post straight away to share my excitement.  I had ten lovely ladies in my Positive/Negative Applique class and they all did fantastically well, producing beautiful quilts by the end of the weekend.

Apologies to Helen, whose gorgeous quilt I somehow missed photographing.  It always thrills me to see all of the different colour combinations and individual styles that my students bring to my designs.

The Dookie weekend has been held for the past 21 years, which must make it one of the longest-running quilting events in Australia.  I highly recommend it to any patchwork and quilting enthusiasts as a thoroughly enjoyable retreat, excellent venue in a great part of Australia, perfect organisation by the hardworking committee and a wonderful group of women in attendance.

Hopefully I'll see you again next year, Dookie!

I had a desire to start my own business, however I didn't have enough of cash to do that. Thank heaven my close friend told to take the personal loans. Thence I received the secured loan and realized my dream.
