Dyad Exhibition Virtual Tour (Part 3)
Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at 11:04AM The Southern wall of the gallery housed my recent paintings, plus a couple of earlier ones.

This painting in acrylic on board (from last year) is of the view from my house north towards Mt Keira - the changing colours of the mountains in different light and atmospheric conditions has fascinated me for years.

Sea Studies from Hill 60 at Port Kembla - stunning to find such gorgeous views in such an unlikely spot.

This Ocean Study was also painted last year, in a bit of a frenzy of grief the day my friend and former boss Michael Whetton passed away. Way to channel strong emotions, huh?

I love these two little urban scenes, Red Roof and Bad Weather - I really enjoy just taking a fragment of the view, a vignette I suppose, and finding the rhythms of the patterns there.

The Dusk Triptych is another from last year which seemed to fit into this display - the lights of Wollongong from the top of the escarpment has alway felt like coming home.

More little vignettes, this time from Hill 60 at Port Kembla - the colours of land, sea and sky are endlessly fascinating.

By the way, I have re-loaded the photo of Elements - Water - the one I had put up initially was awful, I think this one has the colours right.
